Stop And Savor The Moments

February 13th, 2012 by Grace in Inspirations

Do you ever find yourself wondering where the time is going? In the busyness of life, we rarely stop to “smell the flowers.”  Yet, it’s one of the most important things we must do in order to savor the moments and those special occasions.  We have to make a conscious effort to slow down.

Here are a few tips to help you start savoring everyday life.

  • Linger over a cup of coffee in the morning before anyone else gets up. Sit in the quiet, no radio and no television and just listen to the silence.
  • Take out a special letter or card you saved. Reread it and then reread it again allowing the words to sink into your spirit.
  • Take your child out for breakfast or go for a walk.  Ask them questions and listen intently without giving your opinion.
  • Stop at your favorite bakery and treat yourself to your favorite pastry or dessert. Then share it with someone you love.
  • Leave the radio off while driving and listen to your own thoughts.
  • Wear the outfit you’ve been saving for that special occasion.
  • Finish that one thing you’ve been meaning to complete and celebrate your accomplishment.
  • Close your eyes and listen to your favorite song.
  • Get a massage.

Why plow though life when you can take in as much as you can?

You can’t save the moments in time, but you can savor them.
